Subject J&K ERA to spend Rs 101 crores for Rehabilitation of Jehangir Chowk- Rambagh Expressway cooridor affected shopkeepers.
Work on complexes to be completed soon
 
J&K ERA (Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency) executing work on prestigious Jehangir chowk -Rambagh expressway cooridor will be spending Rs 101 crores for rehabilitaion of shopkeepers getting affected due to the construction of prestigious project. Under the rehabilitation component of the prestigious project the agency has already spent Rs 67 crores on the construction of two state of art commercial complexes at Jehangir chowk and Rambagh crossing respectively. In addition to this the agency is expected to spend Rs 37 crores approx. as compensation for land acquistion process in the project.


The construction work on both the commercial complexes has been allotted to JKPCC (Jammu & Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation) state’s premier public sector construction agency with the work in final stages . The state of art rehabilitation complexes have been provided with all the prerequisites of contemporary shopping complex viz adequate underground car parking space, separate public convenience for male and female shoppers, fire safety system and building lift system.


Decorated with traditional Dajji Diwari look on outer façade and generous use of Khatamband inside the four storyed rehabilitation complex at Jehangir Chowk with floor area of 1,41,268 square feet has adequate parking facility and godowns in basement and comprises of 152 shops and office space in 2nd and 3rd floor. The complex has all the facilities of a latest shopping complex like building lift system, fire safety system, and separate public convenience for male and female shoppers.


Similarly another rehabilitation complex at Rambagh embellished with attractive ACP (Aluminium Composite Paneling ) on outside has floor area of 1,04,071 square feet with three storeys with parking space for 72 vehicles in basement, 72 shops in ground floor, 80 shops in first floor and office space of 2000 sqms in second floor wherein J&K ERA is operating its Srinagar office.


Work on both the complexes is in full swing and is expected to be completed soon.


Necessary to mention here that 99 shopkeepers of kabbadi market have already been rehabilitated by the agency in the year 2012.
