ADB team to visit J&K to review ERA project
Jammu, Dec 31: A team of Asian Development Bank (Special Loan Administration ) Mission will visit Jammu & Kashmir from 4-12 January to review the progress of Multisector Project for Infrastructure Rehabilitation project (MIRP) and Jammu & Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Program (JKUSDIP)funded by ADB and executed by Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA).The visiting team comprises Mr. Ramesh C. Swarankar, Resettlement and Social Development Officer (Mission Leader) , Mr. Girish Mahajan ,Environment Officer (Mission Member ), INRM and Mr. Rabi Acharya , Resettlement and Social Development Consultant, INRM. Mr. Anil K. Motwani, Senior Project Implementation Officer(Transport) ,INRM will also participate in the mission during 11-12 January.
Besides , project site visits the visiting team will have one to one discussion with ERA officers, consultants , contractors and JK Pollution Control Board officers on institutional strengthening and to review the status of implementation & monitoring of short resettlement plans (SRPS) and environmental management and monitoring plans(EMMPS) . The mission would also conduct capacity building workshops on environmental and social safeguards at Jammu & Srinagar.
It is to mention that J and K ERA is executing infrastructure/ rehabilitation or upgradation projects which include various road projects in Urban & Transport sector worth Rs. 100 crores approximately in the entire State of J&K funded by Asian Development Bank.
