J&KERA Organizes Onsite workshop for construction workers
Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency (J&K ERA) conducted a series of onsite workshops for the sensitization of construction workers working on various infrastructure projects being executed by J&K ERA in Srinagar city under its ongoing JKUSDIP (Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The main objective of the onsite workshop was to sensitize construction workers about importance of adopting onsite safety measures like wearing of personal protective equipments (PPE). They were also made aware about core labour standards and gender equality.
The two day onsite sensitization workshops was conducted on 12th and 13th of May, 2015 at four different venues which include Kralpora labour camp for workers involved in construction of Jehangir chowk- Rambagh Expressway corridor, at panthachowk bus terminal for workers involved in construction of Athawjan Storm water drainage, at KMDA for workers of mechanized car parking facility and at Rawalpora for workers involved in the construction of Rawalpora- Chanapora storm water drainage project.
